Agent Run Status Now Stays Accurate Everywhere

Agent runs now report the same accurate status on the task, the server, and the desktop app, even through updates, lost connections, and sleep.

Summary

Effigate Command Center now keeps an agent run's status consistent everywhere it's shown, on the task, the server, and the desktop app, even when a laptop closes its lid, a machine briefly loses connection, an update restarts the app, or a task is deleted mid-run. Runs no longer get stuck showing "in progress" when they've stopped, or lost when they shouldn't be.

What You Gain

Before this update, a handful of situations could leave a run's status out of sync with reality. Closing or restarting the desktop app for an update could strand a run mid-task, marked "running" indefinitely. A machine that slept or briefly lost connection could fail queued work within minutes, even after it came back. And stopping a run by hand could leave its task showing "In Progress" with no run behind it.

Now every one of those situations resolves correctly. A closing app reports in-flight runs as interrupted and requeues them automatically, instead of failing later with a confusing error. A machine that briefly drops offline gets a fair grace period, with a note on the task about which machine it's waiting for. And stopping a run by hand now correctly returns its task to the right state.

How It Works

  • Closing or restarting the app no longer strands runs. In-flight runs are reported as interrupted and automatically requeued, and the desktop app and server now agree on when a run has truly ended.
  • Long project setups are no longer mistaken for a stalled run. A run reports it's genuinely working while its project is prepared, so it isn't timed out early.
  • A machine going offline briefly, such as a laptop closing its lid, no longer costs you queued work. The task shows which machine it's waiting for, with a fair window to come back.
  • Stopping a run by hand, or deleting its task, now updates things correctly — returning the task to the right status and stopping any run still working on it.

Where to Find It

These fixes apply automatically to every agent run, with nothing to configure. You'll notice more accurate statuses on the Tasks tab, the Board, and the desktop app, especially after an update or brief outage.
