Until now, only agent runs on your own computers recorded what they cost. The AI Assistant panel, AI Chat, voice notes, and the background AI work Effigate does on its own — like diagnosing a failed run or summarizing a chat — recorded nothing. Every one of those now records its tokens and cost, attributed to the project, person and conversation it came from.
What You Gain
Understanding your actual AI spend used to mean looking only at agent runs and guessing at everything else. A busy team using the AI Assistant, AI Chat and voice notes throughout the day had real costs accumulating that simply weren't visible anywhere.
Now every one of those is recorded against the project, person and conversation it belongs to, and it feeds directly into the coming delivery report alongside agent run costs. Picture reviewing a project's AI spend at the end of the month: instead of seeing only what agents cost, you see the full picture — assistant conversations, chat usage, voice notes and background AI work, all in one place, with nothing missing and nothing silently counted as free.
How It Works
- Full coverage. Every AI interaction — AI Assistant, AI Chat, voice notes, and background AI work — now records its cost.
- Honest pricing. Cost comes from a table of current model prices; a model that isn't in the table is marked unpriced, never shown as free.
- No lost steps. An AI Assistant answer that looked something up used to lose the cost of the look-up step; every step is now counted.
- Desktop agent runs report their model. Runs now say which AI model they used, so cost can be worked out even for tools that didn't previously report it; tools that report neither model nor cost are marked cost not reported, not $0.
