Task Deletion Is Now Limited to People With Permission
Deleting a task now always checks the Delete tasks permission, everywhere a delete can happen, and agents can never delete a task.
Summary
Deleting a task from the sprints view, the mobile app or the command-line tool used to skip the Delete tasks permission check that the main task page already enforced. That gap is closed: every way of deleting a task now respects the same permission, and an agent can never delete a task on your behalf.
What You Gain
Picture a workspace where only team leads are meant to delete tasks. Before this fix, that rule only held on the task's own page — a teammate using the sprints board, the mobile app, or the command line could delete a task they were never meant to touch, and an agent working unattended could do the same. Now the rule holds everywhere, consistently, the way it was always meant to.
Deleting a task you are allowed to delete also now behaves more completely: it immediately stops any of that task's unfinished agent runs and removes it from everyone's open boards, exactly as deleting from the task page always did.
How It Works
- One consistent permission, checked everywhere. The sprints view, mobile app, command-line tool and task page all require the same Delete tasks permission.
- Agents can never delete tasks, even when the person whose computer is running them has permission to.
- The Delete button is hidden from anyone without the permission, in the sprints view and the mobile app, matching the task page.
- Clear messaging. If a delete is refused, you're told why.
Where to Find It
Live now for the web and command-line tool; the mobile app change needs the current app version. No setup is needed — your existing roles and permissions apply automatically.
