Menus and Dropdowns Open Above Side Panels Again

Dropdowns, dialogs and popovers opened from the AI Assistant panel or the task window now appear on top, instead of hidden underneath.

Summary

Dropdowns opened from inside the AI Assistant panel or the task window, such as a project picker, were appearing behind the panel instead of on top of it, making them unusable. Dialogs, menus, popovers and side sheets now consistently layer above these panels.

What You Gain

A dropdown that opens invisibly behind the very panel you're using is effectively broken — you click it, nothing visible happens, and you're left wondering if the app is frozen. The project picker inside the AI Assistant panel was a clear example: its list of projects rendered underneath the panel instead of over it, so there was nothing to choose from. The same layering problem showed up in dropdowns opened from the task window. This fix removes that frustration everywhere it showed up, so every menu and dropdown now opens exactly where you'd expect, on top of whatever panel you're working in.

How It Works

  • Dropdowns render above panels, not behind them. Lists opened from the AI Assistant panel, such as its project picker, and from the task window now appear over the panel instead of underneath it.
  • The same fix covers dialogs, menus, popovers and side sheets. Anything that opens on top of a panel now does so consistently, including above sticky headers.
  • No change to the choices themselves. Only where these elements appear on screen changed; what you can pick from each list is the same as before.
