Attach Files to Your AI Assistant Conversations

Attach screenshots, PDFs, spreadsheets and other files to AI Assistant messages, and have them carried over automatically to any tasks it creates.

Summary

The AI Assistant panel now accepts file attachments — screenshots, PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, text files and archives — right alongside your message, and those files automatically travel with any tasks you later confirm from that conversation.

What You Gain

Explaining a problem to the AI Assistant in words alone is often slower and less precise than just showing it: a screenshot of an error, a spreadsheet of numbers, a document with requirements. Before, there was no way to hand any of that over — you had to describe it instead, or create a task first and attach the file afterward.

Now you can attach up to 10 files per message, paste a screenshot straight into the box, or drag files onto it, and even send a message that's nothing but files. Picture asking the Assistant to turn a bug screenshot into a task: it sees the image together with your message, and when you confirm the task it proposes — on its own, in a batch, or as a full sprint — the screenshot is already attached to it, with no extra step.

How It Works

  • The assistant sees your images. Screenshots go to the AI along with your message, and every attached file is referenced by name so it can be discussed directly.
  • Files travel with the work. When you confirm tasks the assistant proposed, every file sent earlier in that conversation is attached to each new task automatically. Files sent after a proposal is made are kept out of it.
  • Available everywhere the task is. Attached files show up in the task's Attachments panel, in the mobile app, and in the command-line tool's attachment listing.
  • Click to view. Images open in a zoomable viewer; PDFs and text files open in a new tab; other files download directly.
  • Private by default. Only the person who had the conversation can open the files sent in it.

Where to Find It

Available now in the AI Assistant panel for every workspace — look for the paperclip next to the message box, no setup required.
