Share a Chat as Background for a Whole Project
Share any chat with a whole project so every task and the agents working on it can read the conversation that started it.
Summary
Effigate Command Center now lets you share a chat with an entire project instead of just one task. Once shared, everyone on the project is notified, it appears in a new Background chats list, and every agent on the project's tasks can read it for context, keeping the discussion that shaped a project visible to the whole team.
What You Gain
Before, a conversation that shaped a whole project — a planning discussion, a client call, an early research chat — lived inside one chat tied to whichever task you happened to be in. Teammates on other tasks never saw it, and their agents had no way to know it existed, even though it explained why the project was taking the shape it was.
Now you can share any chat to its project in one step. Share a conversation where you worked out an approach, and every current and future task in that project, with its agents, can read it as background, the same way they'd read a task's own description. If the shared background ever disagrees with a task, the agent follows the task.
How It Works
- Share from the chat or the project. Use "Share with a project" from a chat's menu, or "Share one of your chats" from the project. Everyone on the project is notified.
- A dedicated Background chats tab. Each project has its own tab listing every shared chat, with a short summary, visible to anyone who can see the project.
- Agents read it automatically. Any agent working a task in the project, or chatting about the project itself, gets the shared chat's summary and can open it in full.
- Linked chats show the full picture. A task's Linked chats panel lists its own chats first, then the project's shared background, exactly what its agent sees.
- Easy to undo, nothing lost. Only the sharer, or a project manager, can remove it; the chat itself is never deleted.
- Quieter chats. Linking a chat to tasks no longer posts automatic notes into the chat.
Where to Find It
Available now on every project — no setup required. Open any chat's menu to share it, or start from a project's new Background chats tab.
