The Desktop App Moves to the New Graphite Look
The Effigate desktop app now matches the web and mobile apps' Graphite colour palette, with a new icon, cleaner screens, and several dark mode fixes.
Summary
Effigate Agent, the desktop app, now carries the same Graphite colours as the web and mobile apps, along with a new app icon, tidier screens, and a handful of dark-mode fixes that make it easier to read at a glance.
What You Gain
Before this refresh, the desktop app's look and feel had fallen a little behind the web and mobile apps, and dark mode had a few rough edges — switches, chips, and selected rows that blended into the cards around them, making the interface harder to scan quickly. Large numbers like token counts also displayed as long, hard-to-read figures.
Now the desktop app matches the rest of Effigate, with a new icon on macOS, Windows, and Linux, and a menu-bar icon on macOS that follows your system's light or dark setting. Every page opens with a clear title and short description, tabs have icons for faster recognition, and token counts read in a friendly shorthand like 20.5M instead of a long string of digits. Dark mode now reads cleanly throughout, and the window opens directly in your chosen theme with no flash of the wrong colours.
How It Works
- New app icon across macOS, Windows, and Linux, plus a macOS menu-bar icon that follows your system theme.
- Matching chart colours to the web app, with the Graphite colour used for cost charts.
- Cleaner screens with titles, short descriptions, and icon-labelled tabs throughout.
- Friendlier numbers, such as token counts shown as 20.5M rather than long raw figures.
- One clear daemon control showing Start or Stop depending on whether it's currently running.
- Dark mode fixes for switches, chips, and selected rows that previously blended into their surroundings.
- No colour flash on launch — the window now opens directly in your chosen theme.
