Quick Actions Can Now Start A Real Code Review
Quick Actions have a new Code Review type that starts a genuine review of a task's open pull request, with the verdict posted clearly.
Summary
Quick Actions — the shortcuts you use to prompt an agent from the comment box — now include a dedicated Code Review type, which starts a genuine review of a task's open pull request rather than just asking an agent to comment on it.
What You Gain
Before this, a "review" Quick Action just posted a general prompt to an agent, and whatever came back was a reply in the thread rather than an actual recorded review verdict. If you wanted a real review with a verdict attached to the task, you had to trigger it a different way, which made Quick Actions feel like a shortcut that didn't quite reach the thing you actually wanted.
Now, picking a Code Review action runs a full review: the agent examines the task's open pull request and submits an actual verdict, which moves and labels the task exactly like your project's dedicated review step does. The verdict appears as its own comment at the top of the thread, not buried under a reply, so it's easy to spot.
How It Works
- A new Type field on Quick Actions lets you choose between General (the original prompt-and-reply behavior) and Code Review (a real review with a verdict).
- Trigger it from the comment box's
/menu; anything you'd already typed is passed to the reviewer as extra context to focus on. - It's refused with a clear reason if the task has no open pull request, or if the agent you're asking has already worked on the task itself.
- Your existing "Code Review" Quick Action was switched to this new type automatically; any other Quick Action you use for reviews needs its Type updated under Settings.
Where to Find It
Find and set the Type on any Quick Action under Settings → Quick Actions, then trigger it from the / menu in a task's comment box.
