Workspace Timezone Picker Now Shows Modern Time Zone Names

The workspace timezone picker now shows modern, familiar city names instead of outdated ones for the same time zone.

Summary

The workspace timezone picker now shows the modern name for your time zone — for example the current name for a region instead of an older one that technically refers to the same time zone but has since fallen out of everyday use. Nothing about the time itself changes; only the label you pick from is clearer.

What You Gain

Previously, the timezone picker listed some time zones under their decades-old names, which can be unfamiliar even though they point to the exact same time as the name people actually use today. That made it easy to second-guess whether you'd picked the right one for your team.

Now the picker shows the modern, familiar name for each time zone instead. If your workspace had already picked one of the older names, it still matches correctly to its renamed entry — there's nothing to redo.

How It Works

  • Modern names throughout the picker. Each time zone list entry shows its current, commonly used name.
  • Existing selections still match. A workspace already set to an older name is automatically recognized as the same, modern option.
  • No change to the actual time. This only affects the label you see; your workspace's clocks and schedules are unaffected.

Where to Find It

Open your workspace settings and the timezone picker to see the updated names — this is already live for every workspace, with nothing to reconfigure.
