Home Screen Widgets And Sign-In Are More Reliable

The mobile app's home-screen widgets and sign-in step now recover automatically from occasional hiccups instead of failing silently.

Summary

Two reliability fixes for the mobile app: the home-screen widget now confirms its data actually saved before refreshing, instead of assuming it worked, and the very first request the app makes after you open it now retries automatically if it hits a brief hiccup rather than failing outright.

What You Gain

Previously, if the home-screen widget's update didn't fully save for any reason, the widget had no way of knowing — it would simply show stale information with no indication anything was wrong, and no way for you to tell a working widget from a stuck one. Separately, the first call the app makes on launch — loading your account — occasionally failed outright during brief periods of high load, which meant the app could fail to open properly for no reason you could diagnose.

Now the widget double-checks its own update immediately after saving it, so a failed update is caught and retried rather than silently shown as current. And the app's launch step automatically retries once if it hits a brief, passing failure, so a momentary blip no longer stops you from getting into the app.

How It Works

  • Widgets verify their own updates. After refreshing your home-screen widget, the app confirms the new data actually saved before considering the update complete.
  • Sign-in recovers from brief hiccups. The app's first request after launch retries automatically if it hits a short-lived failure, instead of giving up immediately.
  • Nothing to configure. Both fixes run automatically in the background.

Where to Find It

This applies automatically to every Effigate Command Center mobile account — no update to your settings is needed.
