Skill Files Now Show Exactly Where They'll Land
Uploading a skill's supporting files now shows exactly where each one will be saved, with a broken reference flagged up front instead of discovered later.
Summary
A skill's supporting files are only useful if its instructions can actually find them. A gap in one upload path could previously cause a file's saved location to not match where the skill's own instructions expected it — with no sign of the mismatch until an agent tried to use it. Skill file management is now clearer end to end: you can see exactly where every file will land before you upload it, and a broken reference is flagged immediately.
What You Gain
Previously, one specific way of creating a skill — starting from a template — could save a supporting file to a slightly different location than intended, so the skill's own instructions pointed at a file that technically didn't exist where expected. The only sign anything was wrong was an agent quietly failing to find it during a run. That inconsistency is now fixed with one shared rule applied everywhere a file gets uploaded, so every skill's files land exactly where its instructions say they will — including skills created before this fix.
Managing a skill's files is also much clearer now. A skill's page shows the exact folder its files will be saved into, and uploading a file now shows you the resulting path live, as you type, instead of only after you click Upload. Dropping in a whole folder of files keeps its structure instead of flattening everything to one level, and uploading to a path that already has a file at it replaces that file cleanly instead of creating a silent duplicate. If an instruction in a skill points at a file that doesn't actually exist, that's now flagged directly on the page.
How It Works
- The exact destination folder for a skill's files is now shown clearly on the skill's own page.
- Typing an upload path shows you the resulting location live, before you click Upload.
- Uploading a folder preserves its original structure instead of flattening it.
- A broken reference — an instruction pointing at a file that isn't there — is flagged directly on the page, not just discovered when an agent runs.
- Viewing and editing a supporting file now uses the exact same panel and controls as the skill's main instructions file, so both feel like one consistent experience.
Where to Find It
Available automatically on every skill in your account — including ones you created before this update, since the underlying file-location fix applies retroactively.
