Hard-Clear a Decision Item, With a Reason on Record
A new, permissioned Hard Clear option lets you remove a specific Decision Queue item for good, with a reason logged against the task.
Summary
Your Decision Queue is deliberately hard to silence — an item is meant to stay until the thing it describes is actually resolved, not until someone decides to look away. A new, narrowly scoped Hard Clear option now gives you one permissioned way to remove a specific item when a person — not the system — has genuinely decided nothing further should happen on it.
What You Gain
Previously, there was no way to remove an item from your Decision Queue except by actually resolving whatever it described. That's the right default, but it meant a judgment call — "we're not doing anything about this one" — had nowhere to go except staying visible indefinitely, or being lost entirely if someone just stopped looking at it. Hard Clear fills that gap without weakening the rest of the queue: clearing one item only removes that one signal, not the rest of that task's queue entries, and it doesn't prevent a genuinely new issue on the same task from showing up again later.
Using it asks for a reason first — not actionable, handled outside the system, won't fix, a duplicate, or your own note — and records who cleared it and why directly on the task's own activity history, so the decision leaves a trace instead of disappearing silently.
How It Works
- Find Hard Clear next to Retry run in a task's guidance panel.
- Choose a reason from a short list, or add your own note.
- The clear, who did it, and why, are recorded on the task's own activity log.
- Only that specific item is cleared — the rest of the task's Decision Queue entries, and anything new that comes up later, are unaffected.
Where to Find It
Hard Clear is controlled by a specific permission that account administrators can grant from Settings → Roles — it isn't available to everyone by default.
