Permanently Delete a User's Data in LogZuno
Owners and admins can now permanently erase everything LogZuno holds about one user, from their profile page or the API, to answer a privacy request.
When someone asks to have their data erased, deleting their account should also erase the trail they left behind it. LogZuno now lets an owner or admin remove everything the product holds about one user — their events, their profile, their group membership, and even the anonymous activity they generated before they ever signed in — in a single action, instead of a support ticket.
What You Gain
Until now, answering a request to delete someone's data meant there was nothing inside LogZuno itself to do it with. An owner or admin can now erase a user completely: every event they sent, their profile and the groups they belonged to, and the pageviews and anonymous activity tied to the browser they used before they identified themselves. The user's totals also disappear from every report and chart afterward, not just their raw records, so a deleted person's activity doesn't keep showing up in numbers your team still relies on. The action can't be undone, so it's reserved for owners and admins, and it never touches any other user's data.
How It Works
Open a user's profile and choose "Delete user data," then type their user ID to confirm — a safeguard against deleting the wrong person by mistake. The same action is available from the API for teams that handle privacy requests through their own tools or support systems, using an admin-level key or an owner's or admin's own access. Either way, a confirmation shows exactly how many events and pageviews were removed. The deletion keeps no record of who was erased beyond a one-way fingerprint used to confirm it happened, not the user's identity itself. If that same user ID sends new events afterward, LogZuno simply starts tracking them again as a new record going forward.
Where to Find It
Open any user's profile from a project's Users page and scroll to the bottom to find "Delete user data," or call the same action from the REST API available to your own code. Available to owners and admins on every plan.
