Dashboard Splits Into Operational and Finance Views

The dashboard now opens on an operational view by default, with financial figures moved behind a dedicated permission, plus several number and link fixes.

Summary

The Dashboard now opens on a new Operational tab by default. Revenue, invoices, expenses and other financial figures moved to a separate Finance tab that only people with a new permission can see, rather than everyone who can open the dashboard at all. Several counts and links across the dashboard were also corrected.

What You Gain

Financial figures like revenue, payroll and bank balances are sensitive by nature, but before this change, anyone who could open the dashboard at all could see them. A small team might not mind that, but a growing one usually wants finance visible only to the people who need it — managers, admins and the roles they choose.

Picture a company where only finance leads should see revenue and payroll, while the rest of the team should see delivery and workload numbers. Now that's exactly how it works out of the box: everyone opens the dashboard on an operational view, and financial figures are a separate tab visible only with the new View finance dashboard permission. On top of that, several numbers that were previously counting the wrong things — overdue counts including finished tasks, backlog counts mislabeled as "unclaimed," sprint deadlines missing active sprints — now report correctly, and two links that used to lead nowhere now open the right filtered view.

How It Works

  • Operational tab by default. Everyone who can open the dashboard starts here.
  • Finance tab, permission-gated. Revenue, invoices, expenses, bank balances, payroll, advances and loans require the new View finance dashboard permission — granted to managers, admins and Super Admins by default.
  • Corrected counts. Priority & Type, Task Pipeline, Overdue, Active Projects and Sprint Deadlines now count the right tasks, including a new Critical row and fixed handling of cancelled and backlog work.
  • Working links. "View all overdue tasks" and the backlog link now open the Board filtered to exactly those tasks, with a chip to clear the filter.
  • Honest empty states. A Finance panel with nothing to show says "No data yet" instead of displaying a misleading zero.

Where to Find It

Live now for every workspace. Grant View finance dashboard to any role beyond the defaults from your Roles settings.
