Chats No Longer Clutter Your Boards as Hidden Tasks

Chatting with an agent no longer creates a hidden task on your board; chats now run as their own conversations, answered reliably every time.

Summary

Effigate Command Center changed how every chat message is handled behind the scenes. Chats used to quietly create a "Chat: …" task on your team's first project for every message; that's gone now, and chats run as conversations in their own right, tied to whichever project you actually picked.

What You Gain

Previously, every message you sent in a chat created a task behind the scenes, always in your team's very first project, regardless of what the chat was actually about. That task showed up on the board as "in progress," cluttering your view with entries that weren't really work items at all. It also meant a chat used whatever that first project happened to offer, rather than the project you'd chosen for the conversation.

Now a chat simply uses the project you picked for it, with its description, repositories, and documents attached properly, and nothing appears on your board for just having a conversation. If a message couldn't be answered, perhaps it timed out or lost its connection, the chat now tells you plainly why, instead of leaving you staring at a task that silently never finished.

How It Works

  • No more hidden tasks. The old "Chat: …" tasks are gone from every board; any that existed were cleaned up automatically, with chat history left untouched.
  • The right project, every time. A chat now draws on the project you picked, not an unrelated default.
  • Conversation memory. The agent remembers what was said earlier in the same chat on the same machine, and catches up by reading past messages when it's on a different one.
  • Reliable answers. Every message now gets a clear outcome, even if it was stopped, timed out, or lost its connection, and later messages wait their turn instead of arriving out of order.
  • Files reach the agent. Anything you attach to a chat message is now delivered properly.

Where to Find It

This applies automatically to every chat in Effigate Command Center. If your team's agent machines are running an older desktop app, you may be asked to update it so chats keep working smoothly.
