Task Branches Are Now Created Reliably Every Time
Effigate now creates each task's working branch itself before an agent starts, instead of relying on the agent to do it, so work can no longer land on the wrong branch by mistake.
Summary
Effigate now creates each task's working branch itself, before an agent's run even starts, instead of trusting the agent to do it. Work can no longer accidentally land directly on your main branch.
What You Gain
Because branch creation used to depend on the agent following an instruction, a rare mix-up — like old, no-longer-relevant notes on a task — could lead an agent to conclude branching wasn't possible and do the work directly on the main branch instead. That's no longer possible: Effigate sets up the right branch deterministically before any agent CLI starts.
How It Works
If a task's checkout is on your default branch, Effigate creates (or reuses) that task's own branch automatically. A branch you're already using for a linked pull request, or one you've checked out yourself, is left untouched, and review-only runs never create a branch at all.
Where to Find It
This applies automatically to every agent task; nothing to configure.
