Agents start each run with shorter instructions

Agents now skip boilerplate instructions they don't need, leaving more room for your actual work and making runs noticeably more efficient.

Summary

The standing instructions handed to an agent at the start of every run included guidance that didn't apply once a project was already set up — or, for chat runs, didn't apply at all. That's trimmed now, leaving more working room for your actual request.

What You Gain

Every bit of unnecessary instruction text an agent reads is room it doesn't have for your actual task. On a project that already had its groundwork laid, agents were still being handed guidance meant only for brand-new projects — reducing the space available for the real work on every single run.

Instructions are now sized to what's actually needed: around 18% shorter on an established project, and 26% shorter for chat runs, which never needed that guidance at all.

How It Works

An agent now only receives setup guidance for a project when that project genuinely still needs it. Projects that already have their groundwork written skip that section entirely, and chat runs, which never involve a project repository, skip it too.

Where to Find It

This applies automatically to every agent run and chat — no setup required.
