What You Gain
Before this, voice input on mobile meant recording a voice note as a separate attachment — useful for a quick message, but not for actually writing out a task description or a comment. If you wanted to dictate the body of a task, your only option was your phone's own keyboard dictation, which isn't always convenient mid-workflow.
Now dictation is built directly into the places you'd want it: task descriptions, comments, and Task AI Chat. Tap the new mic button and start talking — your words appear in the field as you speak, the same familiar feel as your keyboard's own dictation, but without leaving the app's text fields. Picture dictating a task description while walking between meetings: tap the mic, describe what needs doing, and it's typed out and ready to save by the time you're back at your desk.
How It Works
- A dedicated mic button sits next to the existing voice-note recorder in task descriptions, comments, and Task AI Chat.
- Live transcription — words appear in the field as you speak, not after you finish.
- On-device speech recognition — your dictation is processed on your phone, not sent elsewhere to be transcribed.
- Choose your language from a new Speech settings screen, listing every language installed on your device.
